WorldSBK-developed Yamaha YZF-R1 pulse protection
A new, WorldSBK-spec pulse cover is now available for the Yamaha YZF-R1.
Developed directly with the Pata Yamaha with Brixx World Superbike team, this new part offers increased protection from both contact with the track surface and from gravel-trap debris.
An extended profile covers the lower portion of the cylinder block as well as providing coverage to the vulnerable oil feed pipe and lambda sensor.
Perfected during Toprak Razgatlıoğlu's WorldSBK 2021 championship-winning season, this part has since been used by all the other Yamaha WorldSBK teams and has been the choice of every Yamaha team in British Superbikes, including 2021 championship winners, McAMS Yamaha, and this season's champions, OMG Racing Yamaha.

“The GBRacing pulse covers always worked well and saved us quite a few DNFs and broken engines since we started to use them in 2016. However, in the quest for continuous improvement one of the team’s mechanics, Russ Joyner who now works with Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, requested that GBRacing consider an extended cover which would then also protect an exposed sensor connector and part of the cylinder block. Always keen to improve their product through racing at the highest levels, GBRacing quickly designed and made a prototype, which with further input from the team became the final protective cover for the R1 used by Toprak and Andrea Locatelli now. It’s been great to see such quick and effective product development, meaning that any road or track day rider with an R1 or MT-10 can take advantage of exactly the same part used to win at WorldSBK level.”
